With wonderful modern appointments, comfortable living areas and exceptional lake views and access, we did not expect this lovely place to be as perfect as it was. We could live here comfortable for the rest of our days. Close to everything but just far enough away to be quiet and restful, we would stay here in a minute the next time we visit Lake Como.

The romantic pathway to the entry… the lovely antiques… the absolutely majestic view from the top floor looking over Lake Como and the surrounding mountains… believe me, Casa Mara is a real treasure. We loved sitting upstairs looking out over the water whether it was cloudy or full sunshine, morning or night. (…) We will be back, and we hope we will have the chance to stay in this truly lovely home.

The availability of the train station and ferry dock make Casa Mara a perfect jumping off point for day trips. (…) As to the home itself, it looks EXACTLY like in the pictures. The construction and furnishings are all very high quality. We LOVED the home. There is not one thing we would change or did not like. We will definitely return to Varenna and to Casa Mara in the future. I give it my highest recommendation.
